Toward the back part of the brain, the cerebellum is a structure about the size of a small fist. It contributes to a sense of balance and coordinates the muscles so that movement is smooth and precise. The cerebellum is also involved in remembering some kinds of skills, and in the learning and storage of some simple responses.

The frontal lobes are located toward the front of the brain, just under the skull in the area of the forehead. They contain the motor cortex, which issues orders to the 600 muscles of the body that produce voluntary movement. They also seem to be responsible for the ability to make plans, think creatively, and take initiative.
