No thank you. Really, it's okay. I couldn't eat another bite.

I'm stuffed.

The directions are awesome, when taken out of context. My favourite: "Brush each calzonetti with a little oil and set on a baking sheet"

I've started riding my bike again, now that we're pretty firmly into Spring. Sunday was the first time on my bike this year. It was a bit rough. The biking bits of me are woefully out of shape. But I'll get back into the swing of things, and everything will be fine.

Sunday's experience also provided impetus for doing some very minor tune-up things Monday morning. My rear tire's walls were wearing thin enough that the tube was starting to show through. So I replaced the tire, and greased up my chain. Didn't take me too long, but when I was done, my pants and t-shirt had nice big black marks all over them, not to mention my hands.

Good thing I wasn't wearing my work-clothes.

Anyway, that's the preliminary work on my bike. I also need to adjust my index shifting, replace the clamps on my rear brakes (not the pads mind you, the clamps are nicely bent from an accident last year), then, there's things for me, like a new helmet is probably a good idea. I need a cycling jacket as my last one is in terrible shape, as are my gloves. I have to remount my lights and bell onto my bike... I think that's it. For now, anyway.

Get over it.

I was sick all weekend. I was less than thrilled. Though I made it through my talk reasonably well last week, which is good. Being sick all weekend is a pain though. It's almost as bad as not having a weekend at all, and just having ten work-days in a row. Bleh.

Other than that, not much new. My filing cabinet is nicely organised, and the rest of the place is a bit stalled at the "some progress made" stage. Unfortunately, I've made enough progress that the cats are getting up on the kitchen counter a bit more regularly, but not enough progress that they still find things to play with, knock of the counter, chew up, etc.

I've signed up for Japanese 102 over the summer, which I'm pretty happy about. It's a night course, which I'm also happy about because I don't have to muck about with making up work time missed because of classes.

Oh, and my mother's birthday was yesterday, and like an idiot, I forgot.

A place for everything, and everything in its place

My place is a veritable mess. I talk about it occasionally, but I rarely get down to actually doing anything about it. Well, my motivation is a bit more important this time. I need to find all the documents I need to do my taxes that I've accumulated over the year.

By an large, I have no filing system to speak of. Sure, I have a place where I stick receipts, and bills and stuff, which is to say random piles on my table. Things that need to stay out, because they're important go on top. But then other things come along and piles get shuffled and merged and moved. Currently, I have several fairly tall piles that have been moved off the table and on to the floor, so that I have room for other piles on my table. So... no filing system to speak of.

So I need to start with my filing cabinet, and clean that completely out, then refill it with a filing system. This system has to be simple, or I'll never stick to it. So what I'm doing is just having a bunch of folders for a given year. Anything non-financial oriented goes elsewhere. Receipts that are needed for warranty purposes go in their own folder. Correspondence that I want to keep, say letters from my girlfriend, go in their own folder.

So that part is mostly done. And that's an excellent starting point. Because now, when I look at a piece of paper in one of those piles, I can either file it or throw it out. None of this to be sorted later crap. Books should go on the bookshelves. CDs and DVDs should go on their shelves.

Well, except that shelf space seems to be at a bit of a premium. I need to really cull a lot of the DVDs/books/comics that I've accumulated. I don't have space for all of that stuff.

Anyway, we're off to a good start at least.
